Dr.Arun Gupta 
Founder and Central Coordinator

Dr Arun Gupta is a senior pediatrician with more than 37 years of experience, founder and central coordinator of the Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India (BPNI) since 1991. He chose to give up private practice to work for breastfeeding policy, has been able to bring “breastfeeding” issues to forefront of discussions both at national level and international level.
 
He is the regional coordinator of IBFAN Asia since 2002. He has been the member of Steering Committee of WABA. In 2008 he was invited to be a Member of the Prime Ministers Council for India’s Nutrition Challenges. He chairs the Core group of the joint IBFAN WABA “Global Breastfeeding Initiative for Child Survival” (gBICS) in partnership with Norad. He has extensively written to raise the voice of infants, in the Economic and Political Weekly, Times of India, and Civil Society. He has been quoted extensively for the issues in national press and international media.  He has created the innovative programmes to mobilise action on breastfeeding like World Breastfeeding Trends Initiative (WBTi) and WBCi.
 

Dr. JP Dadhich 
National Coordinator & Director-Technical

Dr. JP Dadhich is a senior Paediatrician with 24 years of experience, based in Delhi, trained in Neonatology, Developmental Neurology, Infant and Young Child Feeding including HIV, and Research Methods. Presently, he  is the consultant for HIV and breastfeeding programmes for International Baby food Action Network (IBFAN) – Asia, Co-coordinator, World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) Taskforce on Global Advocacy, South Asia Regional Focal Point Coordinator for World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA), and Chairperson of the Taskforce on Breastfeeding of the National Neonatology Forum of India.
 
He has Contributed chapters in text books on various subjects including Newborn Care, Pediatric care, Infant and young child nutrition etc. He has review and research articles published in pediatric, neonatology and nutrition journals. He has also contributed in editing of Journals, policy documents, position statements, training modules, conference reports etc. on breastfeeding, infant and young child feeding, newborn health, child survival, etc.
 

Dr.Shoba Suri 
Director - Policy Advocacy

Dr.ShobaSuri is a Nutritionist with more than 17 years of experience in Research, based in Delhi, with Doctorate in Nutrition & Physiology from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. She has more than 35 research publications to her credit.
